  • Saturday Night drinks (Meyer Road): Pop and poured. Cork pulled out perfectly.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, garnet colour. Fine thin legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with a bouquet of honey, malt sugar, raisins. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium- alcohol, medium- melt-in-your -mouth tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of honey, maltose, raisins. Medium+ finish. Within 15 minutes, this was going downhill, with nutty oxidative notes dominating.
Very good quality Ripasso style wine that has survived 40 years of age, but is barely hanging on. Drink up now fast. I suppose this would have been better 10+ years ago.
