Had this bottle for over 10 years. Last gift from a long time ex-girlfriend. Like the relationship, this bottle's time has expired. Label reads 10-15 years aging potential. They were wrong. The smell is terrible, the taste a little better. Very tart but quite a whollop of alcohol if you can handle the nose. A second bottle for when you're not picky.

Clear garnet red with orange rim, 4½. Mature mellow nose with violets, elegant. Mature and elegant in the mouth, with adequate tannins to match the food (lamb/rice stuffed peppers). Fine finish. An elegant more than expressive wine in excellent harmony. Drink now but can hold for a couple of years more. Howver I am pretty confident that it will fade slowly over many years.

at 9 years old, still delicious and surprisingly fresh considering i've moved it many times and the bottle temperature has fluctuated a lot especially over the last year. A whiff of old earthy amarone, but the flavours avoid the stewed pruny fruit i expected. Barely any orange on the rim. Acidity was ripe, not intrusive. Actually stood up well to tomato sauce. The aging claims on the back of the bottle appear well founded.
