Kept it a little to long but the color is still great. Soft tannins now, a little cocoa and cola on the palette. Medium long finish for drinking it this late. Very nice.

What an exceptional experience. Impressive. The nose and palate had a spearmint and eucalyptus thing which had me down the path of an old Martha's, maybe that was just wishful thinking. This stumped everyone. There's sage, rich fruit, and Chambord. Bingo.

1999s poured blind, with a few unplanned extras (The Winery Restaurant in Newport Beach, CA (The OC)): This stumped the table within the blind format. All kinds of guesses being lobbed around from the guys. There is some ripe tones, so a few said ripe, older Cab. Clove, 5-spice, some aged/cedary aromas with a solid core of fruit and depth with a length of finish that impressed me. Yes, this is a fruit-forward wine but it's not losing its punch or power at nearly 20 years old.

Pleasant surprise. Obviously well past its prime, but still drinkable and still somewhat enjoyable. Needless to say, it's time to drink up.

Happy surprise - still drinking great right from the cork pull on. Decent nose, more closed for a few minutes, then easy rolling to the end.
