Man, this was good. top shoulder fill, some leaking behind the capsule. Purchased direct from winery, stored in cellar conditions since purchase. Tried to open with the ah-so- but the cork was pretty loose in the neck so, surgery time... cork ended up coming out in three pieces with very little cork ending up in the bottle. Wine pours a deep clear garnet with some browning on the edges. In the nose I get a vegetal aroma, decay, and some leather- this blew off in a few minutes showing more salted plums, sous bois, and leather. After about 30min of being open, the wine really began to strut. Aromas of dried black fruits, umeboshi/salted plum, mission fig, fermented tobacco, leather, sous bois. In the mouth, the wine is med bodied, med(-) fruit acid, med(-) tannin, I hate this word, but the wine is so smooth, it just glides across the palate with this evolving funkiness that I just really like, like from a sweet/salty to an earthy/savory finish, with the flavors matching the nose in intensity and progression. Had with grilled Tails and Trotters pork chops and grilled spiced broccolini, the cab really liked both. Saved 1.5 glasses for the next day.

Wow. Incredible combination of still-vibrant fruit with secondary age-related flavors. Began opening with a waiter’s corkscrew, but realized the cork was VERY soft and went to an ah-so. Good move. Cork was almost completely disintegrated. Decanted through a fine screen. Lots of sediment.
Smoke and leather aromas, with some barnyard funk. First sip surprised me with the explosion of fresh red and black fruit. The tertiary leather and graphite continue, but the fruit! Unbelievable that this is a 32 year-old wine! Smooth tanin, medium mouthfeel, long finish. Hard to imagine better Napa Cab than this.

One of the most harmonious wines to date. Certaunly a top 5 wine that I've ever had the privilege of drinking. This seems like it could effortlessly go another 10+ years. Incredible stuff!

Drinking great right now. Lots of sediment. Great nose; great palate. Opaque in color.
