Wow! Yet again Stony Hill demonstrates its ability to age wondrously for decades. This was from magnum and did not disappoint. Medium golden color with a slowly developing nose of citrus and green apple. Plenty of acidity in a viscous palate that revealed wet stones, honey and some light middle eastern spice. Long full finish. Two more mags left and will wait another five years for the next one.

Wine is surprisingly fresh and intense for its age. Gold color, simple nose and mostly simple aged flavors of lemon grass, honey and a creamy marshmallow note. A bit too lively in the long finish, not really sure if its acid or the wine just hits the "high notes" a bit too well. I should have drunk a few years back for more younger chard flavor, but at this age, it seems like it has the flavor intensity to get richer and more interesting with age. I would try again in 2018.

Drinking well now, needs 2 yrs to expand and gain richness. Beautiful clear gold color, nice nose of mellow citrus and marshmallow. The mid palate has an intense beam of fruit that hits that bods well for development still. Has a nice viscosity that's building. Flavors of citrus blossom, minerals and light honey with occasional nutmeg but in a tightly wound way.
