Acquired this bottle at an auction 15 years ago. Cork was in excellent condition. Decanted for 30 minutes. The initial bottle funk quickly blew off and the nose of a mature Cabernet was in full bloom. Surprisingly light sediment, the wine was clear and bright, dark red color. Black fruit, ripe cherry and tobacco were the predominant flavors. Improved over the next hour. The price sticker on the bottle from around 2001 was $59...I would put this up against more current cabs at 3x the price. Loved it!

Always love the Lewis Cabernet releases, this after 18 years shows plenty of fruit and a nose of rich dark berry, toast, and coffee, but on the palate the flavors up-front of gorgeous dark fruit, but this slowly fades and dries. Don't wait. It's great with food and protein to tame those drying tannins!
