Contrary to previous TN-writers, I found this wine quite sprightly. I had it from a magnum, maybe that benefitted my experience? Unfortunately, the cork had leaked.
Even after standing the bottle for over 3 weeks, the very fine sediment was in suspension, giving the wine a little nasty and grim look. Nose: oxidation and oxidation. Palate: A superiorly polished mature Shiraz with beautiful red fruit, good length, pristine behaviour and fine acidity. Little too polished to have a personality. Style is like the better Rhone Valley wines but without cold cuts, smoke, horses and pepper. Great wine, but not complex enough to merit a higher score. Still going strong.

Pretty one-note and boring with older red fruited flavours that are starting to fade, and not much developing with time in bottle. It's not quite into generic old red wine territory yet, but it's heading in that direction.

Really disappointing, given all the praise I've heard for this wine. It's relatively simple with dusty red fruits and touches of eucalyptus and earth at first, not much in terms of depth or complexity and finishes slightly sour and astringent.
