Nez discret. Couleur assez opaque. En bouche, on constate un peu du fruit rouge mais surtout noir. L'acidité est assez élevée et pertube l'équilibre du vin. Les tannins ne sont pas agressifs mais un peu assèchants. Légèrement décevant. 90-91pts

Decanted briefly. Delicious, earthy Volnay with notes of orange peel and anise along with the great minerality, medium-plus body, medium finish. Tannins are still youthful but not overbearing. Showing well now but no hurry.

Nicolas Rossignol's Volnay Cailleret is an elegant, cool, mulberry-silk wrapped Pinot Noir, with subtle Aromas of cherries, delicte spices and a subtle minerality. The tannins are highly noble and almost imperectible; an almost perfect acidity pervades this sculptural, feminine wine in a silk negligee. Due the large amount of hail Damage, the stems were not fermented, thus producing a delicate noble Pinot which is now drinkable with great great pleasure and excellent balance

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Now we're talkin'. All red fruit with great spice. Backward today, but everything you want is here. Very minerally textured. Cellar at least 10 years, but 92-94 point potential for me.

2016 La Paulee San Francisco - Saturday Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco): Gorgeous, medium dark black cherry, very nice intensity and depth, perfect structure and acidity, rocky, tannic. A standout, but will need years.
