Deep dark golden. Not a hint of oxidization! Pretty butter laced lemon rind nose, with wildflower honey. Mellow stones and tangerines on the palate. Long, smooth finish. This aged very well and has impecable balance for such a broad wine. This may have been better a few years back but is not done yet, but I'd drink up soon.

Golden color for this magnum stored in one spot since purchase. I was extremely worried this one was left too long but was pleasantly surprised at how well it did for this celebratory wine dinner at Monarch. This wine had plenty of life left and showed nuances of caramel. We followed this with a much younger Aubert chardonnay which showed the differences in acidity.

Full, elegant nose has honeyed pears, butterscotch and citrus zest. Palate is also elegantly styled with medium body, but rich white fruits and soft toasty notes. Very well integrated with zingy acidity keeping the rich palate fresh and lively into a long finish. Outstanding.

Killer Rhones and lamb at Frank's (Chicago): Bright gold in the glass with a gorgeous, complex nose showing layers of butter, vanilla, peach, fig, melon and citrus fruits. Palate is full and similarly complex with more white fruits, vanilla and some hazelnut, good acidity and a long, clean finish with only a hint of alcoholic warmth (the wine's 14.1%, but does a great job hiding it).

Butterscotch, lemon, vanilla. Well balanced wine with several years of life ahead of it. Good acidity makes this a very food friendly wine.
