Casual White Burgundy (Yang Ming Seafood): Didn't like this too much. Citrus fruits that were rather green, but at the same time exotic that gave it a disjointed palate. Despite a solid backbone, the wine came across as unbalanced without much intensity.

The 2013 Roulot Bourgogne Aligote was aged in stainless steel tanks, it’s their only wine that is not aged in barrels. Bottled in DIAM, and unsurprisingly it is still very fresh. Light and saline array of lemon and green apples. Very lean with a touch of creamy batonnage note. High acidity, very light bodied, only 11.5% alcohol. (80/100)

Dougie comes to town (Chicago, IL): Good freshness still, with a nice acidic zip. But that's pretty much all here -- it's a simple wine with not too much by way of concentration or flavour. This definitely has a lot less cut and steeliness than the chardonnays.

White and citrus fruit with floral notes on nose. Given the nose, the palate is refreshingly light in weight and with good acidity and a touch of mineral. No length or penetration to speak of, but this is a good thing in this case. Paired with multi-ingredient salad and focaccia to awesome effect.

a fine fresh aligote. Lots of acidity and minerality. Good value. Best with food.
