Waiting has its benefits. As noted by the prior ratings, this wine has consistently improved with time. Some more browning in the color, and the taste has achieved richer concentration and complexity with the emergence of some leather and pipe tobacco notes.

Still tasting well, which was a pleasant surprise for me not having tasted Willimatte pinots this old. Orange rind and some bacon fat on the nose. Some Burgundian notes. Good deep rich fruit. Good length. Some meaty notes. But also some rather vibrant fruit. Suggest not much longer to go. Was a bottle brought by a friend to dinner (his hometown!) and what a great treat!

Slight signs of age with a hint of browning. Outstanding nose tobacco, earth, and cherries, very burgundian. The palate is bright and fresh with notes of toasty oak on the finish. Overall a very well made wine that is just plain delicious. A harmonious mix of new world fruit, oak and old world earth and funk. This was a very generous gift from my cousin and what a gift it was!

My expectations were very low for this wine considering the reviews here and on WS. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It's on the lighter side of Pinot's and was very drinkable.

Horrible. I see why it was $15. Completely off balance. I dumped it down the sink.
