Opened 3 hours prior to serving. Top wine of the night (11 guests for Thanksgiving dinner); first bottle empty. Nose and palate in sync with rich dark cherry and raspberry aromas/flavors, with hints of mushrooms, forest floor and cola. Acidity and tannins smooth and well integrated. Drinkable now, but still in its prime for a few years.

A big improvement over a prior bottle that was somewhat flat. This was rich, full-bodied (especially for an Oregon pinot) and with great depth. Dark fruits, earth and spice with a somewhat rich, lush texture, excellent balance and good structure and grip. Very typical flavors and textures of a well-made Shea.

Quite excellent. Some secondary savoriness and complexity coming through with age, but still very lively with fruit - bigger than the Oregon stereotype, but not remotely overpowering or flabby. Smiling and accessible at the front, wrapping up with a wonderful, darker brooding aspect. After an hour or two the fruit recedes, with more prominent bramble. I love that this wine encapsulates a broad spectrum of what Pinot Noir can show. I would think it continue to be interesting for at least another two years, maybe even into and past 2019.

This bottle was somewhat flat and tired in comparison with all the others. Had the same texture, but lacked depth, freshness and vibrancy. Will not score.
