Strong terroir and varietal markers, with light roast coffee beans and non-off putting vegetal and herbaceous elements. A little edgy, in a backward sort of way. On the downside, this is over oaked, with baking spices comprising a significant portion of the scents and tastes at the back an on the finish. The wine does not likely have the substance to absorb the oak, even in time. Solid, but a wine of two halves (nose, attack, and middle mostly traditional; back and finish excessively oaky and modern).

P&p; best with 2+ hours of air in the bottle. Smells like dark fruit, smoke/tar, spice, tobacco; oak is certainly present but not out of bounds. On the palate, crushed berries/blackcurrants/plums, not overly fruity just nice and juicy with good acidity, and fairly grippy coarse tannins but they're manageable. Somewhat bitter, drying, tannic finish, like chewing on a plum skin (or I suppose a grape one). Certainly comes across as young, but enjoyable for what it is, and a good value at $17.

Strong, wine with cassis, earth and tobacco, rounded mouth feel and lingering finish, great structure and holds up on second day. Loved it

A very tasty 2014, lean but direct with flavor and with good purity. Blue fruit, cassis, herbs, soil. Ready to go with air

No 27, medium garnet. stewed chestnuts and mint. Juniper and wet leaves. A long plum finish.
