  • It's hard to know what to expect from sparkling shiraz. Popped this last night with two friends, and we were all impressed.Nice frothy purple mousse when pouring, but there wasn't too much effervescence on the medium bodied palate. It didn't really scream shiraz at first, but as it warmed and opened up, more plum and brown sugar notes showed up. Great balance, and finished quite dry, so it was very refreshing and easy to drink. It should last a little while yet, but probably at peak now (B+).

  • Still youthful. Impenetrably dark. Fine bubbles. Dry finish. Red, dark fruit with cinnamon spice. Many years still ahead of it.
