12 years maturing seem to be enough for the second wine of Chateau Talbot. Opened two hours before consumption (probably not enough decanting time), the three bottles displayed great tannic character. Robust body, long caudalies.

Garnet red color. Smoke, cherry, spice and caramel scent. Smooth, red berry, tar and light mocha flavor with fine dusty tannins and a moderate length finish.

The winemaker at the time said Rolland reccomend A++ char on the barrels. And I believe you pick that up. Maybe time will live it down.
Actually, upon tasting and letting it breathe it doesn't feel roasted now. So a year and a half did it some good. Nice character but the finish is short. The feeling is drink up.

Fair colour, medium body/ super intense nose cedar/ classic claret light in the mouth, fine flavours/ soft tannins and fair length/ 13% classic lesser claret, loved it and great QPR ( wish I had more).

Ditto earlier note. A little tight - probably should have let it breath longer.
