Translucent cranberry color. Nose is laden with cherry fruit, spice and minerals. Palate is relatively lithe, with cherry herring notes, some lead shaving, spice and tart berry. For a grand cru this is rather light in body and lacks the depth I was hoping for.

Domaine Louis Jadot Clos de Bèze vertical. Tasted next to 2015. Purer fruit, less expressive in comparison, cherries, spices, crushed stones. More obvious tannins, fresh, great intensity, fine length. Impressive. 93-94+

Louis Jadot Cellar Visit, Barrel Tasting and Lunch in the Vineyard (Beaune): Barrel tasting at Jadot. Black cherry and plum aromas with great spice. Black cherry on palate as well with great intensity and density. Great balance and harmony already. Noteworthy depth. This is the Domaine Louis Jadot bottling, not the negociant bottling that has also been produced in some vintages. Excellent.
