Excellent Drinking well with an hour or so in the decanter. There's more depth here than initially obvious, so I think this is barely entering the window. Tannins are fine but still provide some grip. Great purity and elegance here, dark cherry, red cherry, dusty earth, crushed dried herbs. Such a pleasure to drink.
Glad I held out on drinking the first of several purchased 5+ years ago. Solid $50+ purchase.

My first time tasting a Gianni Brunelli Brunello. I decanted and strained my wine, and then I let it sit for three hours. There was a bit of sediment, but I got it all out. There is a fine layer of tannin, and a whole lot fruit underneath it. I think that this wine needs five years before it can be truly appreciated. Is it worth $70 a bottle? Oh yeah!

Drunk with family to accompany beef steak. Opened and decanted as some sediment present, then drunk after 30 minutes.
This is as good as ever. Lovely cherries and blackcurrant fruit on the nose. The palate is deliciously meaty and chewy with great tannins and acidity suggesting this is now at its peak. It held well in the glass for 2 hours so that suggests can continue to hold well, so no rush to drink. Generally well balanced and long. Excellent.

Black Lion Wine Club - Lib Dem Italian Tasting (The Black Lion): Medium garnet. Dried cherry, orange rind, leather, thyme, earth. Quite ethereal - not a huge wine but so much complexity as you smell and taste. Medium sandy tannins, high acidity, long finish. Drinking beautifully now but has plenty of life ahead and will probably develop greater complexity over the next 10 years.
