Brigh truby red. Lots of fruit up front. Cherries and vanilla and that balsamic nose some BdMs get. Nice flavours in the mouth but a little light in it's loafers in the middle. The finish goes on and on. Lots of acid and some tannin. Good/very good but poor QPR.

Bought @ the extremely expensive Lilydale store on the owner's recommendation. I'm not terribly familiar with Brunellos, but this is a polar opposite to a '97 Tenimenti Angelini Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Spuntali consumed over the New Year's holiday. That was rich, deep and concentrated fruit. The Gianni Brunelli, at this stage in its life, is overly wooded (e.g. "wood forward") with the fruit in the background. Hard for me to imagine this one getting much better. Extremely disappointing given the price.

French Bakery BYO Brunello Dinner (French Bakery, Kane Concourse, Bay Harbor Islands, FL): Flight 2, #3. Deirdre and Richard's wine. Very, very good, almost the equal of the 97 Valdicava Riserva Madonna del Piano. There was a slight raisiny note on the finish. But still preferred over the 97 Frescobaldi.
