Don’t really pick up the classic Pauilac notes of graphite. Relatively thin on the palate with a weak finish. Part of it is the vintage for sure. Drinkable and enjoyable but doubt it will change a lot.

PNP with dinner at Monsieur Paul in the French pavilion at Epcot. Deep translucent garnet. Nose of cedar, blackberries and sweet oak. Taste is similar and woodsy. Near exceptional balance of tannins and acidity. Less dominant flavors than most California wines I drink. More austere and refined but less flavorful. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Medium plus body. About 91-92.

Took one sniff of this and remembered how much I love Pauillac. Pencil/sweet fruit but not overdone, with a beautifully supple leather texture. This is lighter than the big boys but extremely enjoyable, refreshing, and gorgeously sculpted. Nothing is off base here, there's enough muscle to handle most food you might throw at it, it just doesn't have quite the power/concentration of some of its neighbors, but tonight that is fine with me. Extremely approachable at this young age, which I appreciated, though a touch tight-green-grainy, something that time will resolve. 13%, $90 in restaurant. 90+

Leather nose, full bodied with prominent tannins. Aerating smooths the tannins.

Green and white pepper on the nose. Light, earthy, leather, white pepper. Delicious effort!
