  • As before. Acidity is winning the battle but there is enough mature secondary fruit here to make this a pleasure.

  • Razor sharp, pointed acid wraps around the ample bitter cherry and leather in a satisfyingly crisp way. The fruit is obviously mature but still outrageously fresh for something this age. Tannin is also there with a firm mouth puckering finish along with all the mouthwatering acidity. A fine, fine wine and a genuine surprise that it has held up so well - I wonder if this showed any promise of this in its early years. I somehow doubt I would have spotted it.
