Leather, earth, olive brine, peppery black fruits. Savoury with fresh acidity and well integrated tannins. This is drinking really well right now and I don’t see much reason to wait any longer if you still have some in the cellar.

The color on this has held up pretty well, displaying no browning and a cloudy dark plum color. Sweet dark cherries, scorched earth, vanilla, and toasty oak aromas dominate the nose. The first hour after opening the acids were so prominent that I thought it was over the hill. However, the next hour was a marked improvement. The dark cherries are thicker on the mid-palate and finish with leather, rosemary, sage, and pepper notes. Pretty nice mature wine that feels a tad too subtle to push it into the upper-echelon.
