I don't have enough experience to know if it was flawed. I couldn't identify a specific flaw but it was sharp and not as smooth as I expect burgundies to be. Opened with Coravin August 2017. Will try again later.
I came back to this five months later and like it much better. Probably helped that I’d had a bit of Sauvignon Blanc before trying it. On this tasting I appreciated the peppery smoothness. Not very fruity.

Cranberry in color. Cherry and chocolate on the nose. A hint of citrus in this red (when immediately opened). Smoldering log on the finish. Absolutely delicious!
Enjoyed two bottles in Vieques.

At first this is surely lean and mean, brazenly tart and sour. But with time it becomes clear there is actually a great deal of cherry here, and it lingers on the finish. Some baking spice in there too. In short, this is undeniably classic Pinot, but in a rustic, rough-and-tumble package that is certainly not to everyone's liking. Just give it a chance to open up.

A year has really helped this wine. It has become more balanced, and even has a hint of sweetness on the finish. I wish I had more.

Possibly the worst wine I have ever had.
