totally acetic and undrinkable, second flawed bottle of this and the good bottles have so far not been all that inspiring, a poor result from Ormes de Pez considering the vintage, disappointing en primeur purchase, unreliable and overpriced

half-bottle, splash decanted but quite a lot of sediment, brown tinge to rim, rich cassis and blackberry nose, has some depth and complexity but lacking real class, a bit robust / rustic, palate distinctly dry, a little harsh and mean, rather short, OK but actually disappointing for the château and year, not over the hill but also no great future potential, overall rather poor QPR but then 2005 was never great value because release prices were high, in retrospect I paid too much

Vinho com 18 anos. Já sem muita fruta, muito macio com notas de tabaco, especiarias, pimenta branca, baunilha. Interessante mas talvez deveria ter sido bebido mais cedo.

perfect level and cork, nearly opaque black-red colour with only minor brown at the rim, very good rich fruity nose, typical St Estephe character, palate also rich, quite powerful, overall just a bit rustic, good wine but lacks some finesse and class, ready

Decanted 8hrs before drinking together with cheese. Probably past it’s peak. No real tannins or tail, slightly musky. Light sediment. Rustic colour.
