  • slightly acidic, increased tannins. Seemed 'off' slightly, but still enjoyable.

  • Consistent with previous notes from 2/2020 and 4/2021. It still took a couple of hours to fully open and for the flavors and aromas to blossom, and seemed a little tighter than I recalled it. It's a beautiful wine and you can certainly drink it now if you give some air, but I'd recommend holding it a few more years since it will just get better. No reason to rush this one since it has a bright future.

  • Fairly consistent with note from 2/2020. Still a lot of cherry and red fruit, I get more pie spice than vanilla this time, still lovely earthy mushroom notes underneath the fruit. Fruit is bright and vibrant, good acidity, and firm tannins in the finish. This is really just coming into its own. A year ago I said best in 3-5 years (which would mean 2023-2025), but I think that's conservative now. Although this is delicious now, it has really solid bones and I can see this is getting even better. Really impressive.

  • Upon opening the nose of this wine is of the dirt of vineyard, just wonderful. After a while, leafmold with a hint of red cherry emerges.
On the palate, tannins are still very present, with spice and a great balance between acid and bright red fruit.

  • Garnet color with the faintest sign of bricking at the edge. Red berry, some cherry, well integrated hints of vanilla from oak but they're supporting notes, some earth/forest floor initially but fainter as it opens, some baking spice. More red berry and spice on the palate with some subtle vanilla. Medium body with great balance. Fine tannins are still noticeable in the finish. My first time tasting this and it does seem like it's start to come into maturity but is still on the upward slope with plenty of life ahead. For my palate, I'd say it'd best in 3-5 years but is excellent now.
