  • It takes a few hours to open up, but it unfurls into a lovely ball of plums, bright red cherries, raspberries, crushed rocks, carob, spice notes, licorice, violets, crushed rocks, orange peels, cherry pie, and some rose petals. The Full bodied feel is plush and balanced with crisp, medium acidity and silky, medium tannins. There is a touch of warmth from the alcohol while the structure shows off some peeling back. This is lovely and elegant if on a slightly larger scale of Pinot. There is a good emphasis of the red-fruits and the red spectrum overall. While this can age for longer, it's pretty sexy right now.

  • PnP. Consistent with previous note from 10/2023. Yes, I am breaking my own advice by opening more of this now when it clearly can go for many more years. But it was on the shelf at my local shop, so I can avoid touching any of the ones I put aside to age. Again, classic Dundee Hills red fruit (cherry, raspberry), pie spice, some underlying loam notes. Medium body, medium acidity (but leaning medium+), integrated tannins. This is a tremendous value. While it's nice to drink now, I would be smart to buy a couple more bottles to cellar for the future.

  • PnP. Cherry and red fruit, spice, some earthy and forest floor notes. Medium body, medium acidity, well integrated tannins in the finish. Good intensity, but it still has good poise and balance. Classic Dundee red fruit character. Drinking well now, but this is still a youngster. It has a lot going on now, but it's still fairly primary. I think 3-4 years of bottle age will really help it show itself. This can easily go 15+ years from the vintage, but if you have multiples, it's worth trying now. Not sure if it's my favorite Murto, but it's up there.

  • My favorite BP Murto that I've tried so far

  • A note: PnP'ed, this wine tastes a bit ripe. But strangely, with some air, it firms up and pulls together. So decant before drinking!
