  • Light color, rim clearing and bricking. On the nose strong aromatic intensity with a good core of red>dark fruit... a kind of regal cherry pit kind of thing, some licorice, some baking spice... on the palate the wine has high acidity and is still quite firm and fresh... very nice Pinot flesh on the midpalate, a smooth transition into a moderately firm finish that has just a bit of unresolved tannin. Well balanced wine, good length at 20-30 seconds, good intensity, moderate complexity. Good finesse, a firm texture, and very Gevrey in its personality. While there are still some textural elements to resolve (and the underlying depth of fruit to do so), the wine is in a good place right now. "Very good" wine, borders on being "excellent."
