  • Surprisingly youthful and I would have never pegged this to be a 13 year old premiere cru. There is a slight patina of leathery and mushroom tertiary notes, but this remains pretty primary, with a bright hit of red fruit, but it is totally grounded by a wide array of spice, light citrus and earthy notes. The tannins are fully integrated and the acid is pretty squarely medium+. Given the structure and general intensity, all the pieces are in place for this to have at least a decade of positive evolution.
