Medium ruby, with some edge fading. Pronounced aromas of sour cherry, fern leaves, and cloves. Tannins still quite tight, but somewhat juicy, with strong cherry and a somewhat cola-like flavour and some cloves. Fair length. Pretty ok, but didn’t seem much characteristic of Nebbiolo

At first, Nose of dried oregano intermixed with matured black-red fruits of black cherry, red plums and rose hips. Color shows some bricking. With about an hour open the dried oregano fleshes out and what unfolds for you is quite amazing: Palate has a nice depth and presence with the black cherry, gravel and earthiness. It seems a nicely evolved and matured Barolo with great intensity and finesse. Balance is quite nice on this and tannins, while feminine in feel are in control. This is a wonderfully fragrant, approachable and polished while that has a long and exacting finish that is a wonderful déjà vu of what the tongue had just experienced. Quite the value at $40.

PnPed. Elegant, light and perfumed nose of cinnamon, and other red spices such as paprika, lots of dried roses, some 10 lacquer (like Red Burgs), some earth and minerals, a bit of dried red cherry. This enters light and somewhat tart, with dried cherries and roses, but it picks up some depth and becomes a bit more dark right away - it's spicy and there is just a touch of sap and sweeter fruit back there. This is light in body and very transparent. A really good sign is that the wine picks up even more depth, with an extra burst of red cherry fruit sap and depth on the finish. Really excellent. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 4.5-5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 15.5-16.5/20.
