Afternoon meet-up at Chu Yen. Drank in Zalto Burg. Tasted semi-blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red flowers, strawberries, red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of strawberries, sweet red cherries, red licorice, spice, bit of sweet oak. Long finish. Very good quality. Fine elegant Chambolle in the spring of youth now. Was guessing it as a 2017. Will develop well.

Youthful/developed nose. Medium-fullish. Pure and perfumed. Raspberry, red cherry, and a load of minerality. Chalk and limestone. No oak whatsover. After a long while some exotic spices emerge. But quite backward. Medium-fullish, very good concentration and balance. Dark cherry, cranberry and raspberry. Chalky and minerally. Very Chambolle. And, unfortunately, a quite tart - 2014 - finish. Personally, I think this wine could have done with some oak spice aromas. But for the purists, this will be very fine.

Medium red. Nose is floral, red berries. The perfume continues on the light weight and acceptably concentrated palate. Fresh, flavorsome without padding. I suspect (hope!) this will put on weight in the next couple years as the previous bottle was more impressive.

Nice chambolle - lacking some umpf - sharp and frutiy, medium body and length - needs more time and get rounder and matured
