  • Opened this but ended up not drinking it so put lid on for 5 days, I am not sure whether this improved the wine or caused it to deteriorate. On day 6 an enjoyable wine with a subtle but enjoyable nose of spice and sweet cherries. On the palate some more cherries but not too sweet with savoury notes and a hint of spice. Nicely balanced moderate acidity keeping it interesting and mature tannins. Medium bodied but flavoursome.

  • Good dusty dark fruit, loamy and heady, actually had some fava beans on the side of my main with this, haha

  • Here I found a bright expression of fresh strawberries, with exotic spices, sweet cherries, moist, earthy mineral tones--somehow reminding me of Rayas. On the palate, silky textures coasted effortlessly across the senses, delivering bright cherry fruits in a soft yet energetic expression. Fine tannins slowly saturated, slightly firming the experience, yet not drying it out, as inner florals and herbal tones resonated throughout. Stunning acids added renewed life to the long finish, displaying medium structure, with tart cherry, savory herbs and inner florals. The 2012 is already showing some early signs of development and providing an enjoyable drinking experience.

  • Aroma: quite floral with cherry notes.
Palate: complex, balanced and subtle. Plums, black cherries, dark berry flavors. Minerals, wood, spice and savory notes. Great structure. Moderate acidity and maturing tannin. Excellent now and likely good for many years to come.

  • The nose was dark, brooding, intense and beautifully layered, with sweet herbs and tobacco up front, followed by notes of dried cherry, sweet Tuscan dust, minerals, exotic spice, and hints of new leather. On the palate, I found silky, pliant textures with notes of pure tart cherry fruit, plum, orange zest, lavender, and inner floral tones. Youthful tannin mounted going into the finish, along with zesty acidity, as dried red fruit and leather tones lingered long. Having recently tasted the large-scaled ‘11, it’s interesting to see the difference that a vintage can make.
