  • Nose is a bit rustic. Palate somewhat thin, very dry.

  • Supple tannins and cranberries on the palate. Medium finishing. Easy drinking. Great value for a regional wine.

  • It's hard to find good value for money when it comes to Burgundy. Thibault Liger-Belair is a great producer and I've tried several of his cheaper red Burgundy wines. I really think these wines are some of the best "cheap" Burgundy I've tasted so far. This is a decent entry-level Bourgogne. A little darker color than I'm used to from this producer. The nose is also slightly thicker and deeper with notes of sour dark cherries and a little yeast. I'm not too excited about this wine. Fair taste, fair price...

  • Dinner at Bistro du Vin. 300ml carafe.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of dark red cherries, earth, slight stony minerality. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of plump dark red cherries, ripe strawberries, earth, sweet spices. Medium- finish.
Very good quality Bourgogne. Love the ripe plump fruit flavours here. Feels like this could actually slightly improve with 2-3 years of age.
The Clos du Prieuré lies on a south-facing slope above the village of Arcenant, which is one of the best villages in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits.

  • Thibault Liger-Belair Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Le Clos du Prieuré 2014. Probabilmente aperto troppo presto.
