Surprised by the low ratings of this wine. I'm questioning my palate after two martinis, but I very much enjoyed the vegetal aspects and found the bouquet and fruit appropriate, even great for the price.

Decanted for fifteen minutes, then poured back in the bottle and let sit for an hour. Enjoyed over the course of the evening. Not much in the way of fruit, perhaps a touch of muddled red berries. Both nose and palate were dominated by dry underbrush and scorched wild sage. Definitely on the vegetal side of things. Sweet leather, orange blossom and a bit of smoke were also present, and all seemed to deepen -- as oppose to evolve -- as the wine further opened. Not sure much more time in the cellar would benefit this wine; maybe if anything time would help mellow the immediacy of the vegetal/green qualities.

This has slight steamy note with good acidity hide underneath to support the fresh red cherry, strawberry with earth and oak. Medium body, this has quite good concentration for a HCN of sweet fruits, quite acidic with powdery tannin then went on smoothly to the straight forward , creamy finish with slight alcohol heat. Buy - No.

An Evening with Thibault Liger-Belair (Bistro du Vin): Lightish pale red. A little stemmy on the nose when first poured. I get fresh sweet cherries and some earth. Very decent tannic structure for a HCdN with medium length. After some airing the stems blew off and the profile turned a bit serious. However it did not last too long in the glass but nor is it meant to be.
