Berry and spice with initial note of licorice. Definitely a steak wine, as it was VERY bold. In fact, although I opened the bottle four hours before serving, and it was very good with grilled steak, after dinner, it was too tannic for my liking -- there was sediment left on the glass -- and my husband finished the bottle by himself.
(The 89 score is an average between my husband's and my scores.)

Classic cabernet from the Stag's Leap District. Decanted for an hour plus and consumed over two hours. Aromas of dark cherry, toasted bread and cassis. Flavors of blackberry, vanilla, coffee, blackcurrants and baking spices. Round, rich mouthfeel with all elements balanced, polished and refined. Silky, medium length finish. Made to bottle age for at least five more years, this lovely entry level cab can be enjoyed today with a decant of an hour or more.
