  • Clear but hazy, medium ruby with some garnet on the rim. The nose is medium in intensity, with stewed red fruit, leather, earth. mushrooms and a little mustiness. The nose is developed. The palate is dry, with medium acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol (13%). Overall this wine is nicely balanced, with medium flavor intensity and length. It is better than the 2012 - and is drinking well now - but it’s not likely to improve with further aging. This is really not my preferred style.

  • 4thWednesdays - Wines of Northern Italy - March 2018 (Texas Wine School, Houston, Tx): A: Pale ruby
N: Cooked strawberry and cherry pie, leather and earth (had really difficulty getting the leather there but G got it in a heartbeat). Developing verging on fully developed
P: Dry, medium acid, medium (-) tannin, medium intensity alcohol, body and finish.
C: Does not have the necessaries to last much longer. Drink up. Its balanced but not complex and am giving a half tick for length and intensity. Good Quality wine. However, not a fan.
