There's some V.A that punches all sorts of smells up into the nostrils, Chocolate, tar, Indian spices, woodsy/foresty things and raisins. The palate is full and ripe and tastes a bit like a rum and raisin ice cream. Tannins lurk just below the surface and add plenty of chew to the baked earth, savoury finish.

Decanted 3 hours and drunk over 4 hours. Pale ruby color. Red fruit, floral nose. This was a solid Barolo, maybe just past its peak for my taste as it has lost the bite of its tannins but still has good structure.

faded. still some berry flavors but mostly gone. Ultimately, the wine was too thin to stand up to the tannins.
