I bought this wine at Costco for around $80-90. This wine was rated 95 points by Roger Voss at Wine Enthusiast. I popped and poured, and let it evolve in the glass. The tannins are extremely powerful, like a black stallion. They jump out immediately and take hold of your tongue. But you can tell that once tame, this wine will drink beautifully. The dark fruit is balanced, as is the acidity. The complexity and structure indicate that this wine will go for years. It is not really approachable now because of the wild buck tannins, but I think in 10 years, it should be much more approachable. However, if you don't want to wait, I think having this with a nice steak will bring you lots of pleasure. 95 points.

Showing a mineral-driven personality with a distinctive, stony edge, this wine has saline tannins, silky textures and real density in the finish. This is a wine to age.

Decanted for 3 hours.
Merlot dominant. Cab Franc supporting.
Big and lush. Cassis and tobacco. Dark fruit. Textured and brooding and attention keeping.
Ages to go.
A steal when this was~$75. At $ 109 today, fair market.
