Clear, bright ruby red. Really pretty color. Cherry, tobacco and black tea on the nose. It feels younger than it is. Dry, lean with medium acidity and chewy tannins that will take some time to polish. Alcohol is in check. The fruit starts to pop as the structure softens. This needs a two hour decant or a few years in the cellar.
The color, the grip and the body remind me of Valle d'Aosta more than Montalcino.

Still young and fruit driven with cherries and hints of red berries. Early maturity notes could be sensed in the background with sufficient air, leafs, tobacco and forest floor. Wait another 2-3 years for next bottle. The 2013 rosso is one for the long haul, plenty of fruit and structure to develop with cellar time.

Purchased in Florence Italy for 30 Euros retail to have with pizza at our apartment but, we chose to eat out instead so, I carried it home and we had it tonight with Nita's homemade pizza. It was great to bring back a little bit of Italy with us and enjoy it with Nita's pizza. I can't prove it but the wine seemed extra fresh and vibrant coming more directly with us. PnP into Riedel BDX glasses and drinking about 45 minutes later. Brilliant lighter ruby red color. Cherry and floral aromas. Exceedingly well balanced, fresh and pure. Like tasting from the vine. Cherry, tobacco, and spice. The length and verb hint at even more depth to come. This would certainly age well but drinking very refined and elegantly now. 13% Alc. A definitely cut above most RdMs. What a steal at 30 Euros / $33!!! Think this sells for $60 plus in USA and would still be worth $60-70ish.

A bit thin and tart right now. Needs air for sure and maybe just more time. This did open up as it sat and was much better with food. Young.
