Delicious savoury olive, black fruit. Freshness retained with med+ tannin and med acidity give it a few yrs yet to go. Mocha, coffee integration of oak

15% abv is relatively balanced (given its youth) and the fruit is succulent, though the berries are too young and red for my palate. Also lacks some personality.

Tasted after 2013 Aerope Grenache. Darker in colour and also in terms of fruit profile. Black fruits, spices, chocolate, meat on the nose. Big and powerful on the palate. Spicy, and again the alcohol is not perfectly integrated for me. Ripe tannins. OK acidity. Bitter and a little unbalanced towards the long finish. This will need a bit of time. 89-90+(+)

NobleRottersSydney - Two Hands wines with Ben Perkins (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {twintop, 14.8%, A$165} Decanted just prior to dinner. 80% Barossa, balance from McLaren Vale. A 30-barrel selection of the pick of the crop. Liquorice, malt, blackberries, vanilla oak aromas. Lavishly-fruited palate per the nose, the super-fine texture complemented by the only real tannins of the night; chalky and fine but quite powerful. Medium acid; full-bodied weight; long finish. A bit warm to me, but of undeniable quality. It might be harder to change styles for flagship wines; this carries its alcohol OK, but on tonight’s tasting I’d take the Moppa wine for long term aging (and for price!)

24 months on oak reflected in fruit and vanilla nose
Powerful blackberry and plum over soft sumptuous tannins with acidity coming through late. Difficult to say how this will develop
Good but pricey and not up to the single vineyard shiraz
