  • Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers with Jasper Morris MW (Zoom!): 0.87ha, at the top of the vineyard on the cool white marl.

Amusingly this, the oldest wine, is also the darkest tonight.

This feels very mature, quite reserved, a little austere. Tertiary development on the nose, with spice and game, and there’s truffle on the palate. Fine wine, would love to pair with some food. Slightly ferrous, quite chewy – mmm, delicious.

  • Decanted 45 minutes. Not an opulent nose but concentrated with lovely notes of rosemary, light tobacco, some aniseed and soft red berries. Palate full, deep and round - great balance, with fresh acidity, fine (but noticeable) integrated tannins and fresh red fruits. Showing some delicious rosemary, thyme and some very background truffle. Long persistence. Excellent but still feels quite young with secondary notes not yet evolved. Drink 2022-35.

  • Decanted 45 minutes. Showing paling on rim, faintist hint of brick. Stunning nose of intense earthiness, truffles, ripe red cherries and mouthwatering fresh acidity. Palate is ripe and intense - lots of fresh acidity, fine integrated tannins and very red fruits - redcurrants, cherries. Powerful but not voluptuous - too refined for that. Excellent wine - I feel that this will gain greater depth but super drinking now. Drink now-2028.

PNP.
