Soy, scorched earth, red plum, black tea, black raspberry, and vanilla. More Carneros than RRV, the sole note on the 2008 said, & I agree. Think this is too heavy? I understand: this ain't my template either. But just as there's a fine line between clever and stupid, I think there's just enough fruit here to justify the heft

Tasted at Berman's and pre-ordered 2 of these. Nice, but not stellar Pinot. These bottles were just came in from California, so there may be some improvment after a while.

Dinner at Margie and Laura's House (Rutherford, NJ): Cherry, raspberry, currant, oak, tannins, a little bit of soy (with the food) and some baking spices. This drank great but a little more primary than the last bottle. It was an excellent pairing with the grilled salmon with soy, ginger, garlic and apple cider vinegar on a cedar plank.
I think it would drink even better with 1-2 years of bottle age. . .

Too tart at the start, opened a bit over time, but not enough for my liking. Drank with roast chicken.
