But possibly 93. It depends on what you want from red Burgundy. Good if solid complexity on the nose. Dark fruit on the palate, with wonderful balance.
I don't know. My preference is still for Chambolle-Musigny, where the ethereal takes over from depth.

Pommard / NSG 1ers: Took time to get going. Was quite similar to the Boillot on opening but this fleshed out to have more redcurrant fruit. An elegant and refined wine with only a slight hint of rusticity. Drinking well now and third on the night for me.

Pommard 1er wine swap. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Tasted semi-blind. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of cool dark herbs, emerging earth, dark red cherries, dense berries, strawberry compote, bits of whole bunch spice, and a sense of meatiness. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), prickly grippy medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of toast oak, dark stemmy spices, emerging dark earth, chalky minerality, dark red cherries, dense ripe berry fruits, deep strawberries. Very long finish with persistent tannin. Very good quality. Didn't feel as old as the 2008 Pommard Rugiens in the semi-blind, but feels a bit older than expected for 2014. Quite ready to drink already but on the cusp of some greater development also. Interestingly tasted more masculine than the preceding Rugiens.

Vitis Polaris Burgundytasting; 2/8/2018-2/9/2018 (Bodøgaard Galleri): Relatively dark red, transparent. Nose with dried berries, peppermix and some iron. Cool, elegant fruit, while the wine is experienced as massive. Long with great structure. Berries and acid. A great experience. WOTN

Much bigger wine compared to the volnay champans and just more peppery with a bigger structure. Needs a lot more cellar time to be fully enjoyed.
