My review will echo Kemo Sabe's for the most part. I don't know a young Hubert Montille wine since a friend turned me onto these about 5 years ago, but I think it would be akin to a young Barolo (don't do it!). This showed magnificently with T-day roasted duck and trimmings though. Needed about an hour to truly open up, but showed great cherry and black raspberry fruit from that point on. Also quite a bit of black earth on the finish but with fine but still perceptible tannins. finally the acidity held the finish in balance and will keep this wine alive for another decade, I believe. Now I understand why his wines shouldn't be touched for 20 years.

Stellar showing. Incredible depth and concentration to this wine. Highly detailed. Red fruit, dark fruit, structure, acidity, balance, grace and loads of nuance. This wine really had it all tonight. I find Montille's wine are not great young and amazing when they have some age. This was no different. So much going on in the glass and not showing any signs of its age. In fact I would suspect this is just hitting its drinking window.

Clerkenwell Dining Room- L&W DeMontille Tasting Ruby color throught out. Creamy red fruits on the nose with some cloves and sweet spices, a touch on minerality on the nose. Med high acidity bu very well woven silky tanins, very pure, very long, very pleasant wine. still has many years left in it My favorite red of the night

From magnum. This is far from special. Quite anonymous with mature fruit, without detail.
