Attilio Ghisolfi Zoom tasting. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with thin garnet rim. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of ripe dark red cherries, sour red cherries, ripe strawberries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, sour red cherries, ripe strawberry, leather, emerging meat, powdery stony minerality. Integrated oak somewhere in there. Black tea leaves with more air. Long structured finish. Very good quality. There is quite classic fruit here, and though there is 30% small barrel oak used I don't find it obtrusive at all. Still feels like it needs a few more years to develop more.

Coravin taste. Color shows signs of maturity, as does the smell, which is not very expressive. Lean midpalate, but still prominent tannins. Not sure this will come together, maybe better open the five remaining bottles during the coming year or so. Could gain from decanting, briefly.

Dark garnet red with a slight orange rim. Intense and inviting nose of classic tarr and floral notes with a hint of pepper and ripe to poached red berries. In the mouth it attacks with a coat of thick, finely grained tannins. Underlying this it shows medium body, good acidity and very good length with lingering flavours of blueberries and black tea. Currentl surprisingly accessible, not overly complex; with sufficient time in the decanter it can be drunk with pleasure. Will be interesting to try again in five years time.
