  • Loved this. Light with elegance but also power. Definitely more elegant than the early years, but this has the meat/funk that was lacking in 14.
V - Clear medium garnet with medium+ meniscus and high viscosity.
N - Meat, mixed fruit, funk. Plum, black currant and raspberry. Smoked meats, olive, hint of bramble.
P - The Fruit brigtens upon the finish and becomes more cherry. Sourdough, tobacco, bramble, olive. All take their place in line.
Long finish, complex wine, fine/med tannins with Med/Med+ acidity.
    "Winner"

  • PnP, with loads of funk jumping out of the glass. Red fruits on the palate, with notes of raspberry, maraschino cherry, and red currant leading the way, coalescing with hints of bacon, olive, and barnyard. While there's still plenty going on here, I found the acidity fleeting and it felt a tad past peak overall.

  • It's been a number of years since my last bottle.
    Black cherry in color
    Spicy, peppery nose. Olives.
Chewy. More olives. A little meaty. Astringent. Medium finish. A nice wine but better with food.
A nice effort but over priced in my humble opinion. (-1pt)

  • My first of these. "Medium" Reynvaan power (more than 13s/14s but less than earlier years).
V - Murky Garnet with purple hues. Deep with barely medium meniscus and high viscosity.
N - Great, complex nose. Olive, floral notes, along with smoked meats, chalk and green herbs. Balanced with black raspberry, black currant and blackberry.
P - Meat, olive and tobacco give way to the fruit, which peaks and fades towards chalk and iron on the long finish.
Structure - Dry, Med+body, Med+ acidity, fine/medium tannins, long finish and high complexity.
Drinking well now but I'm sure it will evolve further.

  • Earthy, complex and absolutely delicious. Decanted and drank within 1-1.5 hours. Winner!
