Another lovely red from Langmeil. A slightly lighter red in terms of fruit load. Quite earthy and pronounced acidity. A good decant and some time in the glass nicely settled it down.

Color: deep ruby Nose: blueberry, purple fruits, plum, stewed cherry, a touch of tobacco Palate: blackberry, stemmy, tart cherry Mouthfeel: starts tannic and dry but definitely has some jaminess at the end

Centenarian vines is older than 125 according to the charter.
THe vineyard was going to be bulldozed for housing. Black fruit and olives, why are they so much more savory? Could be vine age and then it could also be oak. But to me they don't smell like oak. All French oak here where the valley floor is all american oak. So it could be the oaks showing off.
And man is that delicious on the nose and then front of the palate. THe back of the is there, a touch hard, but in a good way.

Black aromas of tar, oak and olive
Smooth textured, black currants, spicy savoury olives finishing with chewy tannins
A mouthful to savour and repeat
