1/6. Dense coloring with ruby edges. Smells like cassis, curry spice, fennel, wood, lemon, and a little floral. Medium body and finish, medium (+) acid, and flavors of black and dark red fruits, lemon, minerals, and spice. Pretty good with beef and lamb sliders.

Drank half with linguini vongole, Brussels sprouts, 1/2 with medallions of monkfish in white wine butter sauce. After being opened for about an hour, the wine opened up very well, and was very good with the fish & seafood dishes.

Not bad, not good. Oaky on pop and buttered popcorn (a personal least favorite flavor) on the nose for the first 30 mins. Some volatility and rusticity on the palate as it opened, which I guess I appreciated--made me think lower end South Italy. Acid high which was good. Tannic and generic "big red" as the bottle opened.

This was a nice surprise. Drank over three days and it showed clear improvement over that period. Closed up and astringent on day 1, and a completely different experience on days 2 and 3. Dominated by dark fruit, ripe red peaches, cinnamon, touch of camphor and thyme. This is really rather amazing stuff, but this only becomes apparent on day 2 and 3 of tasting. Hence, patience is required. Terrific QPR.

Medium body, red fruit with good acidity yet smooth. I echo that it was a nice surprise - it exceeded expectations and is a good QPR. I'd buy again.
