The nose alone is an olfactory party. The flavors bounce from the black fruits to the leather and earthy goodness. The bottle is a haunting image and color, offering such a beautiful presentation. The finish holds and grips your mind into wondering why you're not putting the next sip down your pharynx already... In a word, fabulous.
Enjoyed with pomodoro sauce on fresh baked bread, burrata, spicy peppers, and strozzapeti with pancetta. Wow!
Even though this bottle didn't hit as high as our other two, it's still Top of Charts good.
Noroc!

Wow, this is an outstanding vin. Immediately one of our favorite California grape beverages. Hard to believe Cali even does this gritty, unique, smoky, pepper-charred juice. Juices actually, being a stunning blend of six grapes. It must have been years of trial & error perfecting the ratios.
Dense, rich, spiced, wooded. We feel like we're back in a Transylvanian fogged morning, with its grey hue light, eerie glow and delicious, welcoming danger...
Magnificently bold. It's a beauty, in a beast sort of way. Dark, crushed goodness.
We mean, Mixed Black Fields,... come on, of course it's gotta be intriguing.
This is a complex, discussion-worthy, beguiling beverage. So much so, we ended up cracking two bottles our first night with this paramour.
It was so embedded in our heads from the first pours. The layers-rich, complex, harmonious vin made us wish we had cases of the stuff.
Oh, let The Lovers feast!
The closest thing we could come up with, that it reminded us of, was another rare, outstanding, hauntingly amazing vin, Moschioni Schioppettino.
Two words:
Git Sum!
You'll be glad you did.

First experience with this particular wine, which is labeled as a field black blend consisting of zinfandel, petite sirah, grenache, mourvedre, carignane, and alicante bouschet. Never tasted anything quite like it. PnP, black fruit fills the mouth with hints of spice. Very dark purple in color and thick with chewy polished tannins and a lasting finish. Not a bit jammy, but definitely fruit forward. Not sure what food it would best be paired with. ZInfandel and Petite Sirah are the main ingredients. Not having any experience with zinfandel, I can't offer a comparison to a more traditional zin. Overall it was interesting, although outside our normal flavor profile. Seems to be in a good window at present.

Opened for Thanksgiving. The dark fruit forward but not sweet profile worked well with the full flavored traditional meal.
