This is has come into it's element and is a rich, balanced, wine of poise. The fruit still seems fresh, with flavors of black plum, currant, and blackberry, with hints of anise and clove. The core is balanced by pleasing acidity that transitions to velvety tannins. This somehow plays out again in the finish as it starts with velvet mouthfeel and ends with lively acidity.

Give it time and air, it really shined on night two. Lovely nose of blueberry reduction, brulee and violets. Blueberry carries over across the palate, adding notes of currants, black cherry, graphite, mocha and pencil shavings. Soft tannins, the fruit lingers pleasantly - really delicious.
After night one I wasn't sure this was at the same level as their Boushey or McKinley offerings, it just needs some serious air to open up.

Jammy, red and black fruits, prune, fig. Lots of cola spices on the palate, cinnamon, clove, sweet spice box. A bit smokey, meaty, herbal, finishes a bit bitter.

A nice Syrah from a very good vineyard. Ceil du Cheval has produced many great wines over the years and I am hoping this will be one of them.... but its not at this moment.
Dark purple with a pretty tight nose yet. Some black fruits and an herbal note comprise the nose.
In the glass this guys needs time, lots of time to open up. I think another year or two in the cellar will help but the palate is so tight that its hard to differentiate the the fruits from the organic's.
Good bones here, but time is needed.

Nice bright red fruit and dusty minerality. Left open 45 minutes before drinking.
