Excellent fruit from a renowned vineyard. Dark berry richness, with a nice acid, fruit balance. Very nice now, and certainly better in a couple of years.

Decanted. This wine needs it, took over four hours to unwind. Red fruits take the lead on the nose and palate. Thinking back to last night that's the one trait that really stands out, I like the wine but this vintage feels one sided, and generally prefer Syncline's other Syrahs.

P&P but the cork was out for a few hours before game time. A interesting / solid wine for sure, but you can really tell how darn hot 2015 was in WA as the wine comes across as very ripe - and from a producer that dials things back a bit as a house style. I never really got to that next level here, its primary fruit was dominant the whole time. The oak was scaled back so that is good. Good wine, over priced at $50 - and I really like Syncline and I LOVE Ciel de Cheval fruit. For a ripe 15, I'd take the Thalabert every time.
