Red brown veering towards coffee brown color. Tilleule tea, toffee, caramel, acidic. Very beautiful eine with a expressive back palate with good acidity. Keep for 5-8 years, but lovely to enjoy now. Simply love these old VdCs...

Very dark in colour and initially was worried bottle may be tainted. Worked out very nicely with honey, cinder toffee / caramel and real bite / spice on finish. Tend to drink or see these at 10 years or younger so to have one with bit more age was good.

This wasn't a contemporaneous note. It was deeelicious. A marmalade coppery unctous wine. Burnt toffee/ caramel, marmalade & honey predominate with enough acidity to keep it fresh. Some floral notes and maybe rosewater on the nose. It had been a long evening by this time...long and satisfying. It would have merited a score in the low 90's maybe higher.
